August Autocross – Sarasota Technical College

August Autocross #6 – Sarasota Technical College – Non-points event

This is a free, PCA members-only event, sponsored by Suncoast Porsche, located at our newest autocross site. Up to 50 registrants will be accepted into either autocross instructor, autocross “rookie”, or autocross helper categories. Pre-registration on clubregistration.net is required on or before Thursday, 18 AUG 2016.

Please arrive between 9a and 9:30a for sign-in and tech inspection.

Each rookie will be paired with an instructor for one-on-one morning practice on typical autocross maneuvers. Autocross helpers will assist with running the morning session. Following morning instruction lunch will be provided by Suncoast Porsche, then a normal autocross will be held in the afternoon. Anyone who wishes to sign-up as rookie may do so.  If you are an experienced autocrosser but not a Suncoast PCA autocross instructor, please register as an autocross helper.

A Snell 2005 helmet or newer is required and loaner helmets will be available.

9a – 9:45a – registration and tech inspection
9:45a – 10a – Instructors meeting, rookies to cars
10a – 11a – rookie drills first session (all rookies drive)
11a – 12p – rookie drills second session (rookies switch to opposite drill)
12p – 12:45p – lunch
12:45p – Drivers’ meeting
1p – 2:15p – A group drives, B group works
2:15p – 3:30p – B group drives, A group works
3:30p – awards

Directions:

Take I-75 from the north or south to Sarasota Exit 207 Bee Ridge Rd
Head west on Bee Ridge Rd about 3 miles to S Beneva Rd
Take a left on S Beneva Rd and travel about 0.9 miles to Sarasota Technical College, on the right
