DESCRIPTION:*** This event has been rescheduled from October 19 to November 16 due to bad weather ***  \nPorsches and Museums – Edison and Ford Winter Estates and Museum Tour then lunch at Pinchers on Saturday November 16\, 2019 (Ft. Meyers\, FL)  \nPlease join us for a tour of the “Edison and Ford Winter Estates” followed by a lunch at “Pinchers at the Marina at Edison Ford”. \nDid you know that Thomas Edison and Henry Ford spent many winters in Fort Myers? Did you know that Edison\, Ford and Harvey Firestone created the Edison Botanical Research Corporation to try to find a domestic source of natural rubber? Did you know the estate site is a Florida Historic Landmark and the lab is a National Historical Chemical Landmark? \nA site historian will give us a 60 minute guided tour of the homes and gardens of the Edison and Ford families. Following the tour you are free to browse on your own through the Edison Ford Museum\, the Edison Botanic Research Laboratory\, the Museum Store and the Garden Shoppe. Lunch will be at Pinchers\, which is accessible via a garden path directly from the grounds of the estates. Pinchers is right on the water and their seafood comes highly recommended for you to purchase! Your tour entry ticket is good for the full day so those wishing to do some more browsing of the estates may do so after lunch. There will be a designated group parking area where we are free to leave our cars parked until we depart for the day. \nThe guided tour will start promptly at 10 a.m. Please plan to arrive at the parking area between 9:30 a.m. and 9:45 a.m. so that we can get everyone checked in. Most of the tour is outside – please dress accordingly as it may be a warm day. Note that smoking and vaping are not permitted anywhere on the estates site. Only Service Animals are allowed – all other pets and animals are not permitted.
