DESCRIPTION:TIRE RACK® STREET SURVIVAL® teen driver safety is coming to Sebring to stop the #1 killer of teens \n\n\n\n\nCar crashes are the leading killer of American teens from ages 15 – 20\, with more than 5\,000 teens involved in a fatal crash each year and an additional 196\,000 injured. \nSimple driving errors\, avoidable but common among inexperienced teens\, cause the majority of fatal accidents. \n\nTire Rack Street Survival® is a 501c3 organization and is the largest active non-profit national driver education program that teaches teens the skills they need to stay alive behind the wheel. Unlike traditional driver’s education programs based on classroom theory and simple maneuvers\, the Tire Rack Street Survival® program improves driver competence through hands-on experiences in real-world driving situations.\n\n\nStudents will receive a short classroom session and then will learn\, hands-on\, how to manage everyday driving hazards\, obstacles and challenges in a controlled environment on an advanced driving course to ultimately ‘arrive alive.’\nStudents learn emergency braking and skid control\, how to control proper braking\, and how to avoid accidents entirely. In select schools\, in addition to spending time in the driver’s seat of parked 18-wheeler to fully comprehend its massive blind spots\, teenagers witness the violent detonation of an air bag\, which reinforces proper hand placement on the steering wheel.\nStudents are taught in their own cars\, not specially prepared program vehicles\, so the skills they learn can be directly translated to their daily driving experiences. Tire Rack Street Survival® challenges teenagers to understand how to control a vehicle\, rather than just operate one.\n\n\n\n\n\nTire Rack Street Survival® is open to licensed and permitted drivers ages 15 – 21. Forms\, schedules and more information can be found online at www.streetsurvival.org. The cost is $75 per student and some insurance companies offer premium discounts to graduates. \nThe program in entering its 12th year having trained 12\,000 new drivers. 101 schools were completed last year and the goal for 2014 is over 110 nationally. \nFor the 5th year\, Michelin North America is supporting the Street Survival program by providing funding for pavement rental for each school throughout the United States. DESCRIPTION:The 59th annual Porsche Parade\, PCA’s annual convention\, will be held in Monterey\, Calif.\, June 15-21\, 2014. It is a week-long extravaganza of competitive events\, tech sessions\, social events and FUN.\n \n\nRegistration begins March 11\, and links for registering will be on pca.org and parade2014.pca.org at that time. Keep checking parade2014.pca.org for information on events.\n \n\nThe conference center at the Hyatt in Monterey will host many of Parade’s staples (Goodie Store\, Tech Sessions\, the Art Show\, etc.) and two of our five banquets. Three of the banquets will be held at various offsite locations. DESCRIPTION:Autocross #5 in conjunction with Zonefest run by Florida Citrus Region \nRegistration will be available on www.clubregistration.net a few weeks prior to the event.  Cost is $35\, payable at the event (only)\, including lunch\, with a $5 discount for pre-registration. \nThe event will be held at the Lake County Sheriff’s Training Facility.  We will run an exciting course on the big lot. Gates open at 7:00 and on site registration closes at 8:30. On line registration closes at 12:01 AM on May 23\, so register before midnight Thursday\, May 22.   Please preregister\, we need the time to process the registration data. Course map will be sent a few days before the event. \nIf you are an experienced autocrosser\, you know the FLC series offers friendly competition and great camaraderie. Dora.  Turn left at Saddler Rd.  Shell station on left.  Set the odometer to 0.  At 1.6 miles there is a split in the road.  Stay straight.  At 2.9 miles turn right at a stop sign\, then immediately go left.  At 7.7 miles\, go left at the red light onto Rte 561.  At 8.5 miles go right then about a half mile\, enter the site on the left.

DESCRIPTION:May Autocross #4 at  the St. Petersburg College Allstate Center – Rookie Autocross \nWe are encouraging folks that are new to autocross to come out to this event.  We will focus on instruction for rookies and will have special rookie prizes\, but drivers of all levels of experience are welcome. \nRegistration and tech inspection 9:00am – 10:00am.  Novice course walk at 10:15am followed by driver’s meeting at 10:45am. \nCost is $30 for PCA and BMW CCA members\, $40 for non-members\, to be paid on site.  $10 added for day of event registration. \nSnell 2005 helmet or newer required\, loaners available.   Please register on-line.  All payment will be taken at the site.  Lunch will be provided.  Non-Porsche vehicles are welcome. \nNote that due to this site’s proximity to residential neighborhoods\, we require cars at this event to use muffled exhausts.  We reserve the right to refuse participation for cars that are too loud at this event. \nDirections: \nFrom the north/south take I-275 to west on exit 19\, 22nd Ave S.  Take first left onto 34th St S\, continue ~ 1/2 mile\, take a left on 32nd Ave S\, then take a right on 32nd St S.  The event will be held in the large gated parking lot on the right.  Please stage in the adjacent open lot. \n3200 34th St South \nSt. Petersburg\, FL
