SUMMARY:Porsche Club Gathering
DESCRIPTION:Come and join your fellow Porsche club members\, their guests and family for a very social but safe picnic at the Fort De Soto County Park on Sunday\, August 2nd\, from 2:00 to 6:00 pm. Fort De Soto is located at the southern tip of Pinellas County\, 3500 Pinellas Bayway South\, Tierra Verde\, FL\, 33715.\n \n\n\nWe have secured two adjacent shelters\, which can accept 100 people\, but we are limiting our outing to a maximum of 50\, including children. The shelters are open air\, with picnic tables for seating in the shade. We will have enough space to safely social distance between parties. Restrooms and changing facilities are available.\n \nBring your own picnic meal\, cooler and drinks\, and enjoy social distancing with your closest friends. Fort De Soto has numerous activities\, including trails for walking or biking\, swimming beach\, a pier and the historic fort itself. The shelters will be ours for the day (we rented Shelters 8 & 9 in North Beach area) so feel free to stay as late as you want and enjoy the sunset! The park closes 1/2 hour after dusk. \n \nWe know everyone is eager to see their Suncoast PCA friends. And with the large parking lot by the shelters\, it’s a great opportunity to show off the latest addition to your garage or any modifications you’ve made to your Porsche while stuck at home. \n \nBecause of the limit of 50 attendees we do need everyone to preregister in ClubRegistration.net\, the direct link is https://clubregistration.net/events/signUp.cfm/event/10834. SUMMARY:Tour to Linger Lodge
DESCRIPTION:Join your Tourmeisters and other PCAers on a driving tour to Linger Lodge on the Lazy Braden River.  Confirmed registrants and their guests should plan to gather between 11:15 am to 11:30 am on March 14 in Wimauma for a low pressure driving event of just over seventy miles on mostly little known paved public roads in southern Hillsborough and northern Manatee Counties.  We will make lunch reservations for all registered tour participants at the Linger Lodge.  While we will be touring in loose groups\, all registrants will receive written route instructions\, including the Linger Lodge address and the Tourmeister’s cell numbers. \nIn all Suncoast PCA tour events\, the laws of the road apply\, and participants must safely share the roads with non-tour vehicles and traffic.  For this event only\, our Gathering Place and start will be in back of the Church of God Convention Center\, 5504 FL (Route) 674\, Wimauma\, FL 33598\, on Nichols Ave\, just past the intersection of 10th Ave and Nichols Ave. \nThere is registration fee of $10/car with no refunds for this tour (and all 2020 tours)\, as the proceeds go directly into Suncoast Region’s charity fund.  A short explanation is due here; your Tourmeister is also the board member for Suncoast’s charitable endeavors.  A paid ClubReg registration and confirmation is not transferable to a non-registrant’s car.  We will establish a wait list for this tour\, if necessary.  \nAll Porsche vehicles are welcome\, including Boxster\, Cayman\, Cayenne\, and Macan\, all versions of the 356\, 911\, 914\, 928\, 944\, 968\, and any stray Taycans.  Yes\, if you have a 2005 Carrera GT and register that car\, we will squeeze you in the group.  Every tourmeister has biases.

Dress code from business casual to evening attire – whatever you prefer! The evening will also include a short business meeting\, formal change of leadership\, and annual awards. DESCRIPTION:Join your fellow Suncoast PCA members for our first annual Parade of Presents\, delivering gifts to Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital\, St. Petersburg\, FL on Sunday\, December 15\, 2019.  There is no cost to participate other than the gift for the children\, but registration is required as we need to know the number of cars and individuals participating.  The registration link is Suncoast Florida Region PCA Special Event Parade of Presents. \nThe schedule is:\n\n* 2:00 pm – arrive at Bert Smith Porsche\, St. Petersburg. Sign PCA waivers for participation in the parade. Police escorts will arrive around 2:30 pm. \n* 3:00 pm – depart Bert Smith in Porsche Parade with St. Pete Police escort\, proceed to Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. Meyers\, FL)  \nPlease join us for a tour of the “Edison and Ford Winter Estates” followed by a lunch at “Pinchers at the Marina at Edison Ford”. \nDid you know that Thomas Edison and Henry Ford spent many winters in Fort Myers? Did you know that Edison\, Ford and Harvey Firestone created the Edison Botanical Research Corporation to try to find a domestic source of natural rubber? Did you know the estate site is a Florida Historic Landmark and the lab is a National Historical Chemical Landmark? \nA site historian will give us a 60 minute guided tour of the homes and gardens of the Edison and Ford families. Following the tour you are free to browse on your own through the Edison Ford Museum\, the Edison Botanic Research Laboratory\, the Museum Store and the Garden Shoppe. Lunch will be at Pinchers\, which is accessible via a garden path directly from the grounds of the estates. Pinchers is right on the water and their seafood comes highly recommended for you to purchase! Your tour entry ticket is good for the full day so those wishing to do some more browsing of the estates may do so after lunch. There will be a designated group parking area where we are free to leave our cars parked until we depart for the day. \nThe guided tour will start promptly at 10 a.m. Please plan to arrive at the parking area between 9:30 a.m. and 9:45 a.m. so that we can get everyone checked in. Most of the tour is outside – please dress accordingly as it may be a warm day. Note that smoking and vaping are not permitted anywhere on the estates site. Only Service Animals are allowed – all other pets and animals are not permitted.
