DESCRIPTION:Here’s Opportunity to Visit Where Tom and Henry Used to Hang Out\nBack Roads Tour to Edison and Ford Winter Estates\nFort Myers \nThere’s a lot to see when you visit the Edison and Ford winter estates besides the two historic homes: a car exhibit; gardens; laboratory; museum; Edison’s study; extensive exhibits on Edison’s various patents and his search to make rubber\, and\, also a plant nursery. \nA guided group tour is $30 per person (paid through Clubreg) and is limited to 30 people\, the maximum the venue allows on one tour. (With a minimum of 20 participants we will have our own historian to guide us.) Plans are in the works for a group lunch following the tour after which you can return to the grounds should you choose – your tour ticket gives you day-long access\, or head home on your own. \nWe will drive to Fort Myers on back roads starting from Lakewood Ranch (SR 70 east of Bradenton). DESCRIPTION:Make plans to join your fellow Suncoast PCA members for our seventh Dinner-on-the-Beach at Sharky’s in Venice at around 5:00pm or 6:30pm\, you know\, like Jimmy Buffet beach time\, whenever… \nAs in the past\, Sharky’s has made their tent available to our group. This is a covered semi-fixed area\, where we will be well-sheltered in case of a shower\, but is completely outdoors and allows us to enjoy those Gulf breezes that our area is famous for. We will have our own\, dedicated service staff with individual\, couple\, or group checks available. The menu will be wide open\, that is\, everything that you see on the Sharky’s web site will be available.\nParking\, while not reserved specifically for PCA\, is plentiful near the south end of the restaurant. \nYou can find the group in two ways. First\, go to the reception desk\, and tell the hostess that you are with the Porsche Club for dinner under the tent. Or\, alternatively\, if you don’t mind a little beach sand on your feet\, proceed toward the beach\, past the south end of the restaurant complex on the little boardwalk. As you approach the beach\, you’ll see your fellow Porsche-Pushers to your right\, yes\, you guessed it\, under the tent. After a friendly wave\, proceed to the end of the boardwalk and execute a sharp 180-degree turn to your right and come straight into the tent. \nWe’ll all be waiting for you….

SUMMARY:Driver's Education - FL Thoroughbred PCA Region
DESCRIPTION:Want to feel your Porsche on track straightaways and through the curves?  Here’s your chance!! The Florida Thoroughbred Region has rented The Firm track for the day. \nThis event is initially open only to members of PCA and limited to the first 45 cars who register.  We will run rain or shine! \nCost is just $195 each driver.  Bring a non-driver guest for an additional $25. \nLunch and soft drinks are included in the cost. \nThree “run groups” will allow novice\, intermediate\, and “seasoned drivers” to be on track with those of similar ability. Please signify your run group – novice\, intermediate\, or seasoned as you register with Club Registration.  \nTHIS WILL BE A “DE” EVENT\, NOT A TIMED EVENT. \nDE instructors will be available for “in-car” instruction for those who have not driven on any track before or maybe only once or twice.  Also\, this may be the first time back on a track in a long time.  Rate yourself “down in experience” to rebuild a confidence level with an in-car instructor. \nOTHER DETAILS \n1. Check in/registration begins at 7:30am at The FIRM.  Be there on time as there is lots to do before we begin the session.  In addition to confirming the signing of release waivers (you must sign the e-waiver on Club Registration)\, there will be a mandatory “tech inspection” by “The Firm”\, and a mandatory driver meeting to be sure drivers are all aware of procedures\, signals\, flags\, etc. \n 2. Each car owner must present at the track a completed Tech  Inspection Form signed by the driver and an authorized shop.  You will receive a copy of the Tech Inspection Form along with your confirmation of payment.  \nPorsche of Ocala will provide the mandatory tech inspections at no cost to PCA members before the event. Contact Aaron Pederson at 352-436-1283 to set an appointment.  Please take advantage of this opportunity to be sure your car is ready for the track. (Tech at track is only to be sure of no loose items inside car\, belts on\, etc). If you live too far from Ocala to take advantage of the Porsche of Ocala offer your local mechanic must use the PCA Tech Inspection form provided.  You must present the completed form at the track on April 1st. \n3. Helmets – Snell rating of “2015” or newer are required.  The FIRM has 20 helmets available that rent for $25 for those who do not have their own.  (contact The Firm at 1-352-473-2999 to reserve/rent a helmet prior to the event.  Identify that you are with the Porsche Club April 1st event). \n4. Attire for drivers – Long pants and closed toe shoes are required. \n5. Passengers are only allowed with the designated instructors during hot laps.  However\, passengers are allowed during the “Parade Laps” at noon and helmets are not required. \n6.
