DESCRIPTION:TIRE RACK® STREET SURVIVAL® teen driver safety is coming to Sebring to stop the #1 killer of teens \n\n\n\n\nCar crashes are the leading killer of American teens from ages 15 – 20\, with more than 5\,000 teens involved in a fatal crash each year and an additional 196\,000 injured. \nSimple driving errors\, avoidable but common among inexperienced teens\, cause the majority of fatal accidents. \n\nTire Rack Street Survival® is a 501c3 organization and is the largest active non-profit national driver education program that teaches teens the skills they need to stay alive behind the wheel. Unlike traditional driver’s education programs based on classroom theory and simple maneuvers\, the Tire Rack Street Survival® program improves driver competence through hands-on experiences in real-world driving situations.\n\n\nStudents will receive a short classroom session and then will learn\, hands-on\, how to manage everyday driving hazards\, obstacles and challenges in a controlled environment on an advanced driving course to ultimately ‘arrive alive.’\nStudents learn emergency braking and skid control\, how to control proper braking\, and how to avoid accidents entirely. In select schools\, in addition to spending time in the driver’s seat of parked 18-wheeler to fully comprehend its massive blind spots\, teenagers witness the violent detonation of an air bag\, which reinforces proper hand placement on the steering wheel.\nStudents are taught in their own cars\, not specially prepared program vehicles\, so the skills they learn can be directly translated to their daily driving experiences. Tire Rack Street Survival® challenges teenagers to understand how to control a vehicle\, rather than just operate one.\n\n\n\n\n\nTire Rack Street Survival® is open to licensed and permitted drivers ages 15 – 21. Forms\, schedules and more information can be found online at www.streetsurvival.org. The cost is $75 per student and some insurance companies offer premium discounts to graduates. \nThe program in entering its 12th year having trained 12\,000 new drivers. 101 schools were completed last year and the goal for 2014 is over 110 nationally. \nFor the 5th year\, Michelin North America is supporting the Street Survival program by providing funding for pavement rental for each school throughout the United States. DESCRIPTION:The 59th annual Porsche Parade\, PCA’s annual convention\, will be held in Monterey\, Calif.\, June 15-21\, 2014. Three of the banquets will be held at various offsite locations. SUMMARY:48 Hours of Sebring
DESCRIPTION:The 48 Hours at Sebring is proud to bring to you the most exciting PCA Club Race in North America held at the historic Sebring International Raceway. Every year a strange gathering of Pink Plastic Flamingos and Daytona 24 Hours winners join another 350 to 400 Porsche drivers ranging from Advanced Solo to the who’s  who of Porsche drivers\, many times arriving with the latest Daytona 24 Hour winning team and car. Kevin Buckler (TRG) started coming when his team consisted of himself and his wife in a pickup and an open trailer with his race car. TRG has grown to 4 or 5 tractor trailers filled with the latest Cup cars with top pro and arrive and drive participants and has not missed a year since the beginning. Nowhere else in club racing can you race in the day-and-night and discuss the proper line for turn 17 or compare lap times with\, Kevin Buckler\, Wolf Henzler\, Leh Keen\, Andy Lally\, Shane Lewis\, Michael Levitas\, Randy Pobst\, David Murry\, Spenser Pumpelly and James Sofonas to name some of our regular attendees. \nIt is the on-going vision of our co-chairmen to continue to enhance your experience whether you are a driver\, PCA volunteer or spectator. Since the beginning our Committee has committed to this vision and welcomes each of you to our Club Race.  Significant enhancements over the years have allowed us to provide a great venue for Advanced Solo\, a Test & Tune day\, Day and Night Sprint races and 90 minute Enduro Races on Sunday. Our goal is to make your experience at the 48 Hours at Sebring the greatest racing experience you have ever had. \nAs you enter the paddock area\, pause at the top of the bridge and open your eyes to find the infield full of tractor trailers\, beautiful Porsches\, and a host of vendors.  While we have been the largest Club Race in North America for many years\, our goal continues to be the greatest race.  The number of GT3 CUP cars continues to grow each year\, but we are proud of the fact that Porsches from the 60’s\, 70’s\, 80’s\, and 90’s still have a place for friendly competition under the watchful eye of the PCA Club Race scrutineers. We are honored that so many drivers have made the 48 Hours at Sebring their home each February. \nFor more information visit: www.48hoursatsebring.com \n
