DESCRIPTION:GET YOUR PORSCHES READY FOR A SPECTACULAR EVENT \nOn\, Saturday\, June 6\, we have planned a tour to visit The Larry Wilson Collection. The Larry Wilson Collection is a private display of nearly 100 cars which includes Porsches\, Jaguar\, MG\, Mercedes-Benz\, various race cars\, numerous special interest cars and so many other things. This again is a private collection and is not open to the public; however\, we are fortunate enough to be invited to view these cars. Add this experience to your prior visit to the Collier Museum\, you will come away and say “Oh my\, where do these cars come from?”. \nThe collection is located in Palm Beach Gardens. Because our region is so spread out\, we will meet at several predetermined locations and caravan down together. Those locations will be announced as we get closer to the event. \nOur caravans will end up in Jupiter and lunch will be on our own. After lunch we will meet in the Publix parking lot located at Jupiter Farms Village\, 10142 Indiantown Road at 2:00 pm. We will tour as a group to the warehouse location. \nWe will try for a group dinner after the tour. For those wishing to spend the night in the area and do some sight seeing on Sunday\, we will list a few suggestions for hotels in Jupiter. There will be signs. \n11:00-12:00 Car show judging \nThe judges will be your kids and grandkids\, as well as all participants. SUMMARY:Tire Rack Street Survival
DESCRIPTION:TIRE RACK® STREET SURVIVAL® teen driver safety is coming to Sebring to stop the #1 killer of teens \n\n\n\n\nCar crashes are the leading killer of American teens from ages 15 – 20\, with more than 5\,000 teens involved in a fatal crash each year and an additional 196\,000 injured. \nSimple driving errors\, avoidable but common among inexperienced teens\, cause the majority of fatal accidents. \n\nTire Rack Street Survival® is a 501c3 organization and is the largest active non-profit national driver education program that teaches teens the skills they need to stay alive behind the wheel. Unlike traditional driver’s education programs based on classroom theory and simple maneuvers\, the Tire Rack Street Survival® program improves driver competence through hands-on experiences in real-world driving situations.\n\n\nStudents will receive a short classroom session and then will learn\, hands-on\, how to manage everyday driving hazards\, obstacles and challenges in a controlled environment on an advanced driving course to ultimately ‘arrive alive.’\nStudents learn emergency braking and skid control\, how to control proper braking\, and how to avoid accidents entirely. In select schools\, in addition to spending time in the driver’s seat of parked 18-wheeler to fully comprehend its massive blind spots\, teenagers witness the violent detonation of an air bag\, which reinforces proper hand placement on the steering wheel.\nStudents are taught in their own cars\, not specially prepared program vehicles\, so the skills they learn can be directly translated to their daily driving experiences. Tire Rack Street Survival® challenges teenagers to understand how to control a vehicle\, rather than just operate one.\n\n\n\n\n\nTire Rack Street Survival® is open to licensed and permitted drivers ages 15 – 21. The cost is $75 per student and some insurance companies offer premium discounts to graduates. \nThe program in entering its 12th year having trained 12\,000 new drivers. 101 schools were completed last year and the goal for 2014 is over 110 nationally. \nFor the 5th year\, Michelin North America is supporting the Street Survival program by providing funding for pavement rental for each school throughout the United States. SUMMARY:59th Porsche Parade
DESCRIPTION:The 59th annual Porsche Parade\, PCA’s annual convention\, will be held in Monterey\, Calif.\, June 15-21\, 2014. It is a week-long extravaganza of competitive events\, tech sessions\, social events and FUN.\n \n\nRegistration begins March 11\, and links for registering will be on pca.org and parade2014.pca.org at that time. Keep checking parade2014.pca.org for information on events.\n \n\nThe conference center at the Hyatt in Monterey will host many of Parade’s staples (Goodie Store\, Tech Sessions\, the Art Show\, etc.) and two of our five banquets. Three of the banquets will be held at various offsite locations. We have blocks of rooms available at five local hotels\, and anticipate that many people will stay throughout the area.\n \n\nDiscount rates for the hotels will be sent to entrants upon registration.\n \n\nWe look forward to a spectacular event\, and hope you will join us!

DESCRIPTION:This event was originally scheduled for May 3rd but was rescheduled for June 14 due to inclement weather.  \nCalling all new and long time members to come out and enjoy a fun rally through some of the best country roads Hillsborough and Manatee Counties offer.  We’ll met in Ruskin at I-75 and SR 674\, in the parking lot\, in front of the Big Lots at 9AM.  The rally will end at Motorworks Brewery in Bradenton for food\, beverage\, awards and prizes.  Cost is $10 per car.  Payment will be taken at the event\, no online payment\, but please register at clubregistration.net.  Any questions or to register by email contact Sharron Shields at GolfSharro@aol.com. \n
