Our Rally Master\, Jim Hoey\, has planned a wonderful day for us! It will start at Kostas Family Restaurant in Palmetto at 09:50 AM (take I-75 Exit #224 and head East towards Palmetto\, stay on the main road into town\, turn Right at the traffic light on 10th Ave W; Kostas will be one long block up on your left at 17th Street). \nThere will be a rally school from 10:00 to 10:45 AM. The Rally starts at 11:00 AM. The rally should take about 2-1/2 hours to complete. DESCRIPTION:Anyone who has ever participated in one of our region’s Autocross events will know how instrumental Mark has been to the success of that program. All proceeds for this event will go towards helping Mark with his ongoing expenses.  \nSee attached lists. Many interesting cars and tools will be available. Cheap Bricklin\, Shelby Dodges\, Mustangs\, Triumphs\, Merkurs and more. There are also many car parts\, especially Ford\, Merkur and Triumph TR7. \nWhen is the last time you saw a Studebaker Lark\, or even a Dodge Omni? Come see garaged “barn finds” including Delorean\, TR8\, 1967 Fairlane and Avanti!  Tell your car friends!  Even better\, bring a friend! \nMost of the cars have not run in a long time and will need some work to get running again. Some will need a lot of work. Please plan to see them on sale day. We have a car trailer\, so we might be able to negotiate delivery. \nThe 1998 Porsche Boxster is a special case. It is a good looking car\, ready to go\, running great and available now. The price has been dropped to just $5900.  Where else is someone going to drive away in a Porsche for that kind of money?

Drivers 16 years old and older who hold a valid learners permit or drivers license that have no restrictions during the hours the school takes place are eligible to participate. (i.e. If the participant is allowed to drive to and from the event without an adult required to be in the car with them).. \nThe primary emphasis of the Tire Rack Street Survival® is a “hands-on” driving experience in real-world situations! We use your own car to teach you about its handling limits and how you can control them. The students will become more observant of the traffic situation they find themselves in. They will learn to look far enough ahead to anticipate unwise actions of other drivers. As the students master the application of physics to drive their cars\, they will make fewer unwise driving actions themselves. DESCRIPTION:In the Porsche world of street driven rear engine production cars there are three basic groups of progression. Many of the owners concur that although technology generally gets better in each generation\, much is lost in the past. Some feel the 356 was the beginning and is the true classic Porsche\, others feel the introduction of the 911 though 1998\, the air cooled models\, ended the true 911 Series. Many find that the liquid cooled 1999 on up versions are the most drivable and offer a new comfort and performance level. \nEach year the Porsche 356 Florida Owners Group (FOG) has a “Gathering of the Faithful” event. \nTwo years ago\, 35 Porsches got together and attended the FOG event. Those who went were left with two vivid impressions. The great road tour and beautiful 356`s we viewed. \nLast year we did Tour 02 to Howie-in-the-Hills to view the 356 Florida Owners Group Concours Event “The Gathering of the Faithful” It was a display the of 356 models that are among the best in the country. Rarely do you see this many 356 cars together. \nThis year I have planned a tour to their Concours event in Historic Downtown Lakeland on Saturday February 23. The setting will be at the Amphitheater on Lake Mirror. \nDetails: We will meet at Fords Garage Restaurant in Wesley Chapel at 8:00 am\, with a departure at 8:30. This is across from the Outlet Mall at I-75 and SR 56. We will take a leisurely and scenic (trailer parks to strawberry fields) tour to Lakeland. After the Concours there is shopping and lunch where everyone will be on their own. \nNotes: approx travel time 1 ½ hours\, 60 miles. \nTHIS IS NOT A PCA OR SUNCOAST REGION EVENT. DESCRIPTION:The Gold Coast and Suncoast 24th annual 48 Hours at Sebring PCA Club Race is less than a month away (Feb 2 – 5th\, 2017). \nThis event provides funds for the Regions and for charities.
