SUMMARY:Gimmick Rally - Polk County
DESCRIPTION:This Gimmick Rally is our first rally of this year.  We have located the rally in Polk County to make it easier for our membership there\, and in neighboring areas\, to participate.  Per PCA General Rules\, all cars registered for a rally must have a driver AND a navigator.  The driver must be a PCA member. More than one person may accompanying the driver–the more eyes the better for a Gimmick Rally.  We will have waivers available to sign at the starting point.  All minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who will sign for them.\nWe will gather beginning at 08:30 a.m. at the Florida Air Museum\, 4075 James C. Ray Drive\, Lakeland FL 33811. Please check in with the Hospitality Marshal to get the appropriate waivers signed. We will have coffee and pastries at the start. There will be a driver/navigator meeting at 09:00 to pass out and review the Rally Route Instructions\, the abbreviations used\, and some of the general rallying rules. After that the Start/Finish Marshal will get everyone queued up to launch at the appropriate interval.  At the terminus you will turn in your Rally Route Instruction sheets on which you will have written the answers to questions based on signs and landmarks along the route.  Ties will be determined by the corrected total miles driven.  If ties remain after accounting for miles driven\, a 10 question trivia quiz will\, it is to be hoped\, resolve the tie.  The Safety/Scoring Marshal will inform the Rally Master of the winners. The quiz could also help determine who gets door prizes. The terminus of the rally will be at a restaurant where we’ll enjoy lunch on your own followed by the awards ceremony.  There will be trophies for 1st\, 2nd\, and 3rd place finishers and some door prizes. Those of us on the Rally Committee look forward to seeing you at this fun event. \nRegister

SUMMARY:Brooksville To Bushnell Rally
DESCRIPTION:This Rally is set in the northern counties of our catchment area in part to make Club events more accessible to our members there\, but also because it is a very beautiful neck of the woods\, so to speak.  This will be a TSD Rally using the Richta Rally Competitor App.  Please go to your App Store and download the latest version of this app.  Tutorials for using the app are available on YouTube. As Rally Master I will attend as many PCA breakfasts and lunches as I can and we will hold 2 rally school sessions via Zoom. \nThe Brooksville To Bushnell Rally will be held 18Jul2026.  It begins at Keke’s Breakfast Restaurant in Brooksville at 13168 Cortez Blvd and ends at the Bushnell Motorsports Park\, 5821 Pit Rd\, in Bushnell (duh!).  We will gather at Keke’s between 0800 and 0900 on the 18th.  The Drivers/Navigators Meeting will begin in the restaurant at 0900.  Breakfast will be on your own\, so you can breakfast at home\, or Keke’s\, or wherever you choose–just be at Keke’s by 0900 for the D/V Meeting.  The advantage of eating at Keke’s is that Bruce Jones and I will be there to answer questions and make sure you have appropriately registered on the Richta Rally Competitor App.  We can also answer questions about rallying in general and the Richta App in specific. \nThe First Leg will be an odometer correction leg and will not be timed.  Timing for the TSD legs will start when you leave the 1st Checkpoint (at the end of the odometer correction leg).  The 2nd Checkpoint will be a “flying Checkpoint\,” that is\, you do not stop at the checkpoint.  The Richta Rally App will do all of the timing and scoring for us. \nAs note above\, the Rally ends at the Bushnell Motorsports Park (BMP).  This is a very nice go-kart track. They have a meeting room where we will gather as we finish the Rally.  A luncheon Buffett (Sonny’s BBQ) will be set up in our room. The registration fee for this event covers your lunch.  As soon as the last car finishes and the scoring is completed\, we will have an award ceremony to present 1st\, 2nd\, and 3rd place trophies and door prizes based on scoring order.  The BMP track will be open to Suncoast Florida Region PCA members (>/=16 yrs old with drivers license) after the luncheon at 20% off whichever track package is chosen.  Helmets will be available to borrow\, but BMP requires that you bring your own head sock or rent one from them ($6). Rental Kart races are 10 min/each.  You can review their pre-discount track package prices at bushnellmotorsportspark.com.  The track will be open until 2200 (10:00 p.m.). \nhttps://clubregistration.net/events/signUp.cfm/event/17308
