PCA national continues to release small bi-monthly surveys that will be included in e-Brake News this year and is giving out prizes. If you didn’t take surveys from previous months yet, you can still do so and improve your chances to win the grand-prize drawing. All you need to do to enter to win the Grand Prize is to log into your membership account on PCA.org and take the survey. The Grand Prize: Free registration and lodging for you and a guest to two PCA National events in 2016! Choose from Porsche Parade, Werks Reunion, and PCA Escape. Easy peezy.

This is the time of year where we start seeing and getting excited about the new models that are coming out. Remember when the 918 Spyder came out and was all the rage? Well, if you were thinking about ordering a new one, you can’t have one. The last one just rolled off the assembly line. Just as Porsche intended all along when they launched the car in 2013, production has ended on the 887 horsepower hybrid-electric hypercar. They made exactly 918 of them. Unquestionably, the 918 Spyder has been the most advanced road-going Porsche ever made; one that has pushed the boundaries of performance and redefined what it is to be a hybrid car. In announcing the 918 Spyder’s end of production, Porsche said that the car served as a rolling tech lab that will help lay the foundation for what’s to come. Leaps and bounds were made with hybrid tech, aerodynamics, cooling, lightweight materials, and production techniques. Expect this stuff to trickle down onto the Porsches of tomorrow in different ways. Can’t wait! Still thrilled that I was lucky enough that I was able to test drive one.

When you think of the phrase “Fueled by volunteers” it is not too much of a stretch to know that immediately we will think of PCA, Suncoast PCA, 48Hours . . . you get the idea. This new tagline was revealed earlier in the year by PCA National. It is so true for us. If it wasn’t for our volunteers, we would simply not exist. If you are interested in getting involved with your Region, please let us know and we will try to find a fit for your talents. Coming soon – registration opens in November for volunteering for 48 Hours and there are many other areas in which you can get involved.

Until next month, keep smiling.
